New Romantic also known as "Blitz Kids" was a pop culture movement in the United Kingdom that began as a Night Club Scene around 1979 and 1981. Developing in London and Birimingham.
New Romantics became known for their colourful and flamboyant fashions of the Century, this was greatly contrasted with the ripped ands offensive T-shirts and jeans just lke the Punk Movement. Both sexes often dressed in counter-sexual clothing and the guys thought nothing of wearing eyeliner, eyeshadow and lipstick.
New Romantic style was breeded from the fashion designer Helen Robinson's. Vivinne Westwood also inspired the New Romantic with her "Pirate" Collection.
